Rubicon National Social Innovations is a laboratory for scaling social enterprise.  Our mission is to combat poverty and joblessness in the US through scaling innovative social business models.  We collaborate with visionary nonprofits, foundations, and corporations to develop and scale sustainable social enterprises that use market forces to achieve social returns for disenfranchised communities.  We are currently working on projects across multiple sectors and social issues including: jobs for those with barriers to employment, businesses that address environmental issues, food deserts, and financial services for low income workers.

Position Overview:

Reporting to the CEO, the Senior Project Manager of Green Initiatives will be responsible for a portfolio of start-up social enterprises primarily focused on creating green jobs for those with barriers to employment.  Projects are at various stages from ideation to scaling existing businesses and include energy retrofit, weatherization, and recycling businesses.

Responsibilities:

  • Project Champion and Manager
    • Manage the business planning process which will include market research, competitive analysis, identification of key strategies and initiatives; development and implementation of the business plan; analysis of collaborative partners
    • Develop and implement scaling strategy for social enterprises
    • Manage internal project teams, including staff, consultants, and pro bono support
  • Network and liaison with outside interested parties; Cultivate national, regional and local collaborative partners inclusion in local projects
  • Proactively identify key trend, competitive landscape, and emerging changes in social enterprise, green jobs, etc.
  • Support fundraising and business development efforts as needed.
  • Provide other support to the CEO and Directors as needed on key strategic projects and initiatives.

Qualifications:

  1. Entrepreneurial experience and spirit
  2. Graduate degree with minimum 5-7 years of management consulting, business development, or other strategic management position, highly preferred.
  3. Experience in "green" industry, especially energy retrofit, weatherization, or recycling.
  4. Strong financial, marketing, and strategic planning experience
  5. Strong analytical and presentation skills
  6. Outstanding interpersonal skills including customer/client negotiation and influencing abilities.
  7. Excellent communication skills, including oral, written and presentation.
  8. A proactive approach, interpersonal flexibility and history as a self-starter.
  9. Discretion, sound judgment and integrity.
  10. Ability to travel in the US as needed.
  11. Passionate about social and economic justice.

Hours: Full-time or contractor position

Compensation: Salary commensurate with experience. Benefits: Competitive
