Widener University is a metropolitan, comprehensive institution, classified by the Carnegie Foundation as Doctoral/Research University.

The School of Engineering is located on Widener University's Main Campus in Chester, Pennsylvania. The School's student population consists of approximately 450 full and part-time students, divided among chemical, civil, electrical and mechanical engineering. All undergraduate engineering programs are ABET/EAC accredited.

The Department of Chemical Engineering of Widener University invites applications to fill a tenure-track position, at the rank of Assistant Professor, starting Fall 2010.

Responsibilities:

The successful candidate will be expected to teach courses in process design, using simulation software, transport phenomena and mass transfer. The selected candidate is also expected to develop and sustain funded research programs in their areas of expertise, perform University service, advise students and work collegially, in support of the continuing growth of the School of Engineering.

Qualifications:

Each applicant must have an earned doctorate in Bioengineering, Biochemical Engineering or Chemical Engineering and an ability to teach chemical and bioengineering courses at the graduate and undergraduate levels. Design and laboratory experience/interest is required. Industrial experience is desirable. Applicants with interest in protein processing, biomedical materials, biofuel production, bioreactor design and/or bioseparations processes are especially encouraged to apply.

Compensation: Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
