Kiwanis International, through guidance and example, works to develop future generations of leaders. Every day, Kiwanians are revitalizing neighborhoods, organizing youth-sports programs, tutoring, building playgrounds, and performing countless other projects to help children and communities.

Responsibilities:

Create, implement and monitor a comprehensive social media strategy for the Kiwanis family. Programs would include but not be limited to: Builders club, Key Club, Circle K, adult programs, and the next generation of Kiwanis programming. Position will be highly cross-functional between each programming team, marketing, and information technology.

A strong emphasis will be placed on the development of a social media strategy and other targeted communications channels specifically focused on reaching and providing value to the next generation of Kiwanis (internal project name: Kiwanis Next).

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a field related to marketing, public relations, information technology or social media.
  • Minimum of 3 years online community experience
  • Experience working in high traffic website environments.
  • Experience in viral marketing.
  • Experience with e-mail marketing systems or tools.
  • Proven track record in social media including blogging, podcasting and social media engagement.
  • Proven track record in development of social media strategy and programs, search engine optimization and content popularity.
  • Cutting edge awareness and knowledge of mobile marketing and development of new strategies.
  • Actively engaged as a social media user and blogger with profiles established on Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and other social media sites.
  • Teach social media successfully to staff, board leadership and volunteers
  • Communicate concepts or complex ideas effectively and professionally both verbally and in writing
  • Provide creative expertise on the technical aspects of social media, marketing, and information technology
  • Ability to work both independently and under general supervision
  • Ability to remain flexible, handling changing priorities and tight deadlines
  • Detail oriented with excellent problem-solving skills
  • Strong negotiation skills
  • API experience, preferably Facebook Google, and LinkedIn, a plus
  • Ability to work in a traditional office setting
  • Some weekend work required
