Description
The mission of Montana Outdoor Science School is to promote an awareness, understanding and appreciation of the natural world through quality educational experiences.
We strive to inspire the young and old alike to explore the wonders of science and nature in their own backyard. We wade in the wetlands, climb mountain peaks, bushwhack through forests, walk through farmers' fields and float rivers; exploring the relationships between the natural world, our communities and ourselves.
Position Overview:
Environmental Educators prepare, provide and evaluate classroom lessons during the school calendar year. The programs are delivered to local and rural schools in and around the Bozeman area. The
position is a part-time seasonal position beginning in January and ending in May.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare all lesson materials
- Provide high quality instructional lessons in a classroom setting
- Implementation of MOSS program curriculum
- Responsible for tracking class expenses
- Responsible for gathering and returning supplies.
- Attendance and participation in staff meetings.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Degree in education or environmental science required.
- Classroom teaching experience
- Background in environmental science
- Strong interpersonal and professional skills.
- Creative, enthusiastic, and responsible team player.
- Strong communication skills.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.

Compensation: Compensation is hourly DOE.
