Triplepoint Consulting LLC is a firm dedicated to developing the clean energy industry through work with both for-profit and non-profit clients. We are looking to expand our capabilities and start a division dedicated to providing high-level energy consulting solutions for multifamily buildings. Through strategic partnerships, we will provide a turn-key service including energy audits, financial analysis, project financing, project management, and contracting. We are looking for the right individual to develop this division, and take leadership of this aspect of our business.

Position Overview:

The Senior Building Energy Consultant should have a minimum of 4 years experience independently conducting comprehensive energy audits of multifamily or commercial buildings and demonstrated understanding of building science. The successful candidate will be expected to conduct field data collection, carry out energy usage analysis and energy modeling, and prepare the audit report containing recommended scope of work for energy efficiency improvements. BPI Multifamily BA required, LEED AP a strong plus.

Additionally, it is critical that the candidate demonstrate a history of and deep interest in leading and developing a new business unit that is expected to grow over the coming years. An ethical commitment to the broader clean energy mission is expected. Adaptability and a strong set of business contacts are important, and the risk-averse need not apply; as this is a startup company that will be undergoing rapid change in the near- and medium- term future. This position is intended as a path to an ownership stake in the venture.

Responsibilities:

The Senior Building Energy Consultant is responsible for:

  • Conduct energy audits and in-field energy assessments.
  • Make site visits to engage in data collection and analysis.
  • Conduct energy analyses using software modeling tools, including EA-QUIP and TREAT.
  • Prepare energy assessment reports based on analytic findings.
  • Prepare energy reports with detailed specifications and cost savings analysis.
  • Prepare detailed heating system upgrade and replacement specifications incorporating high efficiency.
  • Conduct technical peer reviews, providing comments and preparing energy assessment reports.
  • Build business through new and existing industry contacts
  • Assist in the development and implementation of processes associated with the new business

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 4 years experience in multifamily and (as a plus) commercial building energy engineering.
  • Certified by the Building Performance Institute as a Multifamily Building Analyst
  • College degree (B.A. or B.S. in Engineering) and a demonstrated interest in energy conservation.
  • Knowledge of building systems including lighting technologies, building envelope, mechanical systems (particularly heating systems), and combustion science.
  • Working knowledge of technical and cost savings analysis and reporting.
  • Proficiency in conducting in-field energy assessments, submetering, lighting, technology, DSM.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft software, particularly Excel but also Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Knowledge of energy modeling software, especially TREAT and/or EA-Quip programs.
  • Experience with combined heat and power and photovoltaic / solar thermal projects a plus.
  • Knowledge of energy conservation principles and techniques; fuel data analysis; research skills and experience.
  • Good organizational skills with ability to manage projects from initiation to conclusion while maintaining focus and attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated ability to exercise independent judgment in conducting audits.
  • Demonstrated business, business unit, or team management experience.
  • History of client building and sales of ideas.
  • Personal commitment to clean energy principles.
  • High level of comfort in dynamic business environments and a high level of adaptability.

Compensation: Negotiable / Commission
