Portland Energy Conservation, Inc. (PECI) is a nonprofit corporation with a twenty-five year history developing and implementing innovative approaches to energy and resource efficiency. This position will be growing the industrial and commercial HVAC businesses.

Position Overview:

PECI is seeking a proven business builder who can catalyze a small, successful team into a significant business line.  The right person will be highly entrepreneurial with a proven ability to create, launch and manage new products and programs, manage key partnerships, negotiate multi-year contracts, and manage client relationships.  The programs and projects include large-scale implementation programs being run nationally and thought leadership technical engineering projects.  This position requires considerable experience in business management and strategy development as well as providing mentorship and guidance to staff members.

The ideal candidate will understand the energy efficiency industry and have a strong operational and consulting background, with an ability to manage the details and build relationships throughout the industry.  Strong candidates will have demonstrated strong technical acumen and product management experience that includes understanding the nuances of technologies and how those features can be used to create change in the market.  PECI is a team-oriented, collaborative environment.  The selected candidate must have experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.  This position provides a distinct opportunity to apply your experience with an organization that is on the forefront of the energy efficiency movement.

Responsibilities:

• Manage a small but fast-growing business line.
• Create new program designs around HVAC technologies and market players.
• Interact with utility clients and agencies to promote HVAC efficiency measures.
• Develop and manage an operational business plan in sync with the overall sector strategy and budget, drive this business plan and ensure organization support.
• Provide leadership to the group by participation in on-going company-wide strategic development.
• Identify key business opportunities and develop successful strategies to increase business. Identify partners/alliances/opportunities to expand growth.
• Ensure coordination with the other programs in the sector and that performance is optimized to acquire maximum energy savings at minimum cost to the clients and risk for PECI.
• Oversee program revenue goals and forecast revenue and expense streams.
• Represent PECI at relevant conferences, events and forums.

Qualifications:

• Proven entrepreneurial leadership ability managing large, complex teams with multiple high-quality deliverables.
• Robust communicator and relationship management abilities with multiple types of clients, partners, stakeholders and staff. Skilled at presenting complex information to all audiences.
• Developed talent as an imaginative, resourceful and strategic thinker.
• Strong organizational and adaptive management skills.
• 10+ years experience with contract, budget and resource management of multiple large programs. Experience in commercial or industrial energy efficiency programs, and/or the energy efficiency industry preferred.
