Mill Creek MetroParks has a long successful history with origins dating to 1891. The MetroParks system has over 4,800 acres of properties located throughout Mahoning County, Ohio, including scenic woodlands, rivers, lakes, a number of ecologically significant nature preserves, 20 miles of drives, 15 miles of trails, a county-wide bike/hike trail, horticultural Fellows Riverside Gardens, numerous historic structures including a fully restored 1844 grist mill, two historic Donald Ross golf courses, and extensive recreational facilities. Position Overview:
This full-time position involves research, development, planning, management and implementation of assigned environmental and land management tasks, projects and grants. This position will report directly to the Planning and Operations Director.
Qualifications:
- Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's of Science degree in Land Management, Natural/Environmental Sciences, Ecosystem Studies, or a similar field
- Must have a minimum of 4 years of professional project experience in environmental land management, ecosystem management and watershed activities
- Experience should include conducting wetland delineations, stream surveys, ecological assessments and other various natural system assessment and restoration activities
- Experience operating power and motorized equipment
- Must possess or obtain within 6 months an Ohio commercial pesticide applicator's license
- Must possess and maintain a valid State of Ohio Motor vehicle operator's license
Compensation: $41,860 annual. Benefits: Ohio Public Employee Retirement System; health insurance; sick leave; paid vacation after 1 year; plus.
