SkyFuel is emerging as the leading technology provider and developer of thermal concentrating solar power (CSP) systems. Position Overview:

Reporting directly to the CEO, the Chief Project Officer ("CPO") is responsible to lead and direct SkyFuel's efforts to market SkyTroughTM and SkyFuel's other technology to industry-leading solar power plant developers, utilities and others seeking to develop, own and operate utility-scale CSP systems.

Responsibilities: 

The responsibility includes implementing the company's business development strategy, interacting with all major customers, leading the activities of the business development team, and overseeing project implementation with customers and EPC firms. The Company is already well known by, and has excellent relationships with, the leading CSP developers in the country. The CPO will build on these relationships and help complete projects using the Company's designs and equipment. Working with the CEO, the CPO will also help develop the company's international relationships.

Qualifications:

The Company is seeking a senior energy industry professional with demonstrated understanding of project development, relationships with independent power plant developers and utilities, experience in construction and risk mitigation, excellent customer relations and sales skills, and experience in negotiating contracts for utility-size power projects. The ideal candidate will have enthusiasm to work in and be part of the leadership team of a small, high growth entrepreneurial company.

Requirements:

  • A degree in a relevant technical field (BS or MS in Engineering, MBA);
  • Proven ability to lead and organize a high-growth, scale-up effort at a senior level;
  • Strong diplomatic and negotiation skills and experience negotiating major commercial agreements with customers, project partners, vendors and suppliers;
  • Ability to identify real opportunities and persistence to bring technical sales or projects to contractual closure;
  • Career includes demonstrated project development and management experience and team-building track record;
  • Understanding of power plant project finance, utility power purchase agreements, EPC contracts, partnership and joint venture arrangements;
  • 10+ years experience in sales, engineering or technical function;
  • Excellent personal relationships to utilities, independent power producers, power plant developers, regulators, equipment suppliers, and design and engineering firms with quality credentials and the reputation for delivering on promises;
  • Excellent written and oral communication, collaboration and organizational skills;
  • Must exhibit the highest level of integrity, ethics and honesty.
