Our dedicated wind farm ecology team has industry leading expertise in the ecology requirements of wind farms. With completed and ongoing ecology work on UK wind farm sites totaling over 370MW our ecologists have played a major part in Natural Power's 100% planning consent success rate. When the team is not out visiting sites they are based out of our Falkirk office. 
 
Position Overview:

Natural Power continues to grow and we are looking for a well motivated, team player to join our exciting and rapidly expanding ecology team. This is a field based position assisting the ecology team with carrying out ecological surveys and monitoring at wind farm sites across Scotland and Northern England. The Ecologist Fieldworker is a 6 months fixed term. 

Responsibilities:

You will be responsible for carrying our ecological surveys which includes bird surveys, water quality monitoring, vegetation/ habitat surveys, meteorological monitoring and mammal surveys. You will also be expected to produce reports and maintain the field sheets and work logs.

Qualifications:

You should have good knowledge of British birds and protected animal species and some awareness of the environmental issues affecting wind farms in the UK. You will have good communication skills both oral and written. It is essential you have a driving licence as the role requires frequent travel to wind farm sites.

Ideally we are looking for someone who has an ecological/ environmental degree or the equivalent. Some experience in bird surveying and ecology fieldwork is essential.
