Solar Millennium, LLC is a California Limited Liability Company established by Solar Millennium AG (SMAG) of Erlangen, Germany to develop large-scale solar power plants to serve southwest US power markets. SMAG is a globally active company in the renewable energy sector, with its main focus on solar thermal power plants.  

Position Overview:

To lead and oversee all aspects of project development including power project permitting, e.g. establishing and maintaining project schedules and critical milestones, and being responsible for project budgeting, accounting and financial controls.

Responsibilities: 

This person will be a hands-on manager that will have the support of a team of in-house specialists and outside consultants. The team will manage a series of engineering contracts, manage the plant licensing process, oversee transmission and interconnection processes, maintain regulatory compliance, and establish and maintain a strong community relations program.

  • Manage environmental consultants and contractors
  • Manage environmental and permitting processes with jurisdictional agencies
  • Support legal oversight of project permitting
  • Coordinate necessary environmental studies in support of pre-construction (siting, permitting), design, construction, startup, operation and decommissioning of power generating plants
  • Coordinate all project-related development activities

Qualifications:

  • At least 8 years of project management experience, preferably in the electric power sector
  • Experience in leading a professional team of internal support staff and outside consultants
  • CEQA/NEPA and California AFC experience as a coordinator preferred.
  • Experience in regulatory compliance for the design, development, permitting, construction and operation of power plants.
  • Experience with project management software and tools
  • Experience with cost accounting and financial controls
