Position Overview:
The primary focus of this position is technical consulting expertise, and client project and relationship management.
Responsibilities:
As Green Building Consultant, Mechanical Engineering, you will:
- Manage pursuit process for key competitive business opportunities
- Provide advanced technical consulting for mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and control systems
- Manage multiple green building projects and project teams, creating and maintaining work plans and deliverable schedules
- LEED design, support, and documentation.
The successful candidate shall demonstrate the ability to think strategically/conceptually, implement successfully at the building level and collaborate well with diverse groups and interests. 25% travel is expected.
Qualifications:
8+ years professional experience with clear career progression and experience in systems engineering, design, installation, commissioning, analysis or related field, including:
- Design of energy optimized civil, mechanical, electrical, or plumbing systems
- Project management experience in proposal generation, providing client service, and managing budgets.
- Conceptual and analytical design, strong writing skills and technical publishing ability.
Advanced knowledge of high performance energy systems, with direct experience in at least two of the following areas:
- Building Energy: Building science, mechanical design for active and passive systems, envelope expertise, ventilation effectiveness, UFAD systems, creating sequences of operation for hybrid systems, modeling skills.
- Building IEQ: Air quality, daylighting, efficient lighting, controls, human ecology.
- Distributed Systems: Decentralized, on-site energy generation, hydrogen and fuel-cell products.
- Renewable Energy Technologies: Solar PV, wind and geo-thermal systems for building, site and community projects.
- Facilities Operations: Existing building or campus facilities operations and maintenance impacts, energy upgrades and renovations, demand-side management.
- Economics: Financial measures, first costs, life-cycle costs and return on investment; and monitoring, verification and evaluation of building performance.
Ability to prepare and deliver oral presentations to individual clients and training seminars, clearly and effectively communicating complex ideas.
Expert user of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Acrobat.
A sense of humor and a knack for innovation and problem solving, and a collaborative, solutions-oriented working style.
