Description
The Haw River Program (HARP) is the first residential environmental education program in NC State Park history! HARP is an outdoor education center located at Haw River State Park, in beautiful Browns Summit, near Greensboro, NC.
Position Overview:
We're seeking dedicated, energetic outdoor education enthusiasts to become HARP instructors. HARP offers programming ranging from 1-day experiences up to 5-day/4-night residential stays. Our "classrooms" include several hundred wooded acres, pristine wetlands, a 6-acre lake, and the headwaters of the Haw River.
Why work here instead of another outdoor education center? HARP is determined to create and maintain the highest standards within the field of environmental education. Additionally, you'll get the opportunity to explore career options at one of the top state park systems in the nation. The position is a 10-month seasonal position with the NC State Park System.
Compensation: Your employment will include: salary commensurate with experience ($300 - $350 per week); housing (in your own room) is provided for only $30 a month, plus outdoor education experience in Astronomy, Ecology, History, Orienteering, Team Building, Soils and Wetlands Ecology.
Part time instructor positions are also available. Start date February 9, 2009 and end date November 24, 2009. EXTENDED summer to fall seasons available! Schedules are flexible!
