Position Overview: 

As a result of recent growth, Environment International is seeking a mid-level hydrogeologist with 6-10 years of experience to provide support to clients in the areas of remedial investigation and design, human health/ environmental risk assessment, and related areas of expertise. The job may be located in either Portland, OR or Seattle, WA. 

Responsibilities:

1. Develop and/or review technical documents related to remedial investigations, feasibility studies, remedial designs, removal actions, etc.
2. Review site chemistry data, monitoring reports, etc.
3. Provide comments on work plans, sampling analysis plans, quality assurance project plans, risk assessments, remedial action plans, monitoring plans, etc. on behalf of clients.
4. Prepare monitoring plans and conduct and/or provide oversight for groundwater, surface water, soil, air, and sediment monitoring.
5. Perform data quality analysis.
6. Provide oversight of remedial actions in the field.
7. Communicate scientific concepts to clients, the public and stakeholders.
8. Assist in the preparation of proposals.
9. Prepare environmental science and policy reports.
10. Develop creative solutions to environmental problems.

Qualifications:

1. A minimum of a Masters degree in engineering or physical sciences.
2. Professional registration in WA, OR, and/or CA is desired.
3. 6-10 years of experience designing, conducting and providing oversight of remedial investigations, remedial actions, risk assessments, etc.
4. Project management experience.
5. Experience with AutoCAD 14 or higher and GIS.
6. Experience with contaminated sediments and dredging technologies is desired.
7. Experience with underground storage tanks is desired.
8. Experience with groundwater modeling is desired.
9. Experience with environmental compliance audits and permitting is a plus.
10. 40-hour HAZWOPER certification.
11. A strong attention to detail.
12. An ability to work in teams.
13. Enjoy interdisciplinary approaches to environmental issues.
14. Flexibility, ability to multi-task and willingness to work hard and pitch in with diverse tasks.
15. Strong writing and analytical skills.
16. Strong interpersonal skills.
17. Be a self-starter.
