Emerging Energy Research, LLC (EER), a leading advisory firm specializing in new and alternative energy technologies has an immediate opening for a Global Wind Energy Market Analyst in its Barcelona office. EER clients include many of the world's largest energy companies, utilities, technology vendors, and financial institutions.
Position Overview:
To reinforce our Global Wind team, we are looking for a person who contributes to our ongoing research of wind energy markets and company strategies. He/she will be responsible for gathering and analyzing market and competitive intelligence on new projects, long-term generation plans, green power programs, regulatory initiatives, and industry structure in a wide range of renewable technologies with a primary focus on wind energy.
Responsibilities:
Primary responsibilities include: maintaining market forecast and project pipeline databases; initiating and writing Executive Briefings and Strategy Papers; contributing and eventually leading in-depth market studies; collaborating to serve industry-leading clients on a continuous basis to provide market research, competitive analysis, and strategy support.
Qualifications:
EER's Global Wind Energy Advisory service provides high level strategic insight into major trends impacting the industry worldwide, and requires an experienced analyst with a clear understanding of market structures. Demonstrated interest and at least 2-3 years experience in written research and strategy analysis, preferably in the energy or other infrastructure sector; strong analytical writing and conversation skills using impeccable Business English; strong market and business analytical skills; and proficiency with Microsoft Office.
The candidate must be willing to handle multiple data gathering challenges to build our primary-research market intelligence capabilities, and show versatile problem solving skills in contributing to strategy analysis.
Candidates will be considered based on the following:
- Excellent oral and written English communications skills - high emphasis placed on quick, efficient analytical writing
- Energy and versatility to fuel market intelligence gathering
- Understanding of business models and ability to think strategically
- Familiarity with forecasting and/or financial models
- Some experience in consulting, journalism or research
- Industry experience: energy, finance, industrial manufacturing
- Languages: fluent English and at least one other language
- EU work permit
