Description

Riverkeeper will be hosting it's 3rd annual Waterfest in New York City's Battery Park City on October 12, 2008. It is a day dedicated to raising awareness about the importance of the Hudson River to New York's history, commerce, arts, and culture, as well as the sources of and threats to NYC's drinking water supply. There will be speakers, water sports, hands on activities for all ages, a health and wellness boutique, and more! It is free and open to the public.

Position Overview:

In order to ensure that everyone has a great time and the event goes smoothly, we are going to need Hudson sized people power (a lot!). We will need help in the following teams for the day:

-Land Crew

-On Water Safety

-Logistics

-Set Up

-Clean Up

There will be three 4 hour shifts to staff the day from 8 a.m. until 6 p.m. so that no one feels overworked and all can enjoy the event. You will be notified within two weeks prior to the event of your crew assignment and shift time. Please let us know if you have a known time restraint and we will assign your shift accordingly. Qualifications:

- Able to communicate and work well with others

- If opting to help with on water safety team proficient kayaking experience is required.

- Passion for the Hudson River, NYC, and all water!
