Georgia Environmental Facilities Authority (GEFA) is a state agency that administers a wide variety of programs that provide financial assistance and other support services to improve Georgia's environment. GEFA's program focus areas are water, wastewater, solid waste, recycling, land conservation, energy efficiency and fuel storage tanks for local governments, other state agencies and non-profit organizations. 

Position Overview: 

GEFA is seeking an enthusiastic individual who enjoys a fast-paced environment to join us as an Energy Project Manager.  In this role, you will manage and coordinate programs for the Georgia Environmental Facilities Authority. 

Responsibilities: 

The primary responsibilities include coordinating energy efficiency and renewable energy technical assistance and outreach, preparing and overseeing contracts, and providing policy support related to economic, environmental and technical aspects of traditional and renewable energy supply, including solar, wind, nuclear, natural gas, coal, and transportation fuels. 

This individual will monitor programs through reporting and site visits as well as research and prepare grant proposals. You will manage contracts and support program manager as needed on State Energy Program-funded contracts. The Energy Project Manager will ensure compliance under federal and state laws. You serve on the division or section management team and participate in defining goals, objectives, and mission of assigned programmatic, operational, administrative, support services, or sub-functional area.

Qualifications: 

Minimum: 

Completion of an undergraduate degree from an accredited 4 year college or university and a minimum of 2 years of work experience involving energy and contract management.   Candidate must possess the ability to think independently and work, at times, with little supervision. Candidate must possess excellent public speaking skills in order to represent the Authority in the public with representatives of local, state and Federal Government.  Candidate must possess the skills to work closely with employees at all levels.

Preferred:

Preference will be given to applicants who, in addition to the minimum qualifications, possess one or more of the following:

  • Experience with technical, environmental, and economic aspects of energy issues preferred.
  • Experience coordinating energy programs with local government, non-profit or the business community preferred.
  • Masters degree is preferred.
