Position Overview: 

Staff in this position would be, at a minimum, responsible for performing project work of good quality, including technical and regulatory research, field assessments, regulatory analysis, and documentation, within specified budgets and timeframes.

Responsibilities:

Project work is typically associated with: wetlands assessments and delineations; endangered species assessments; NEPA environmental assessments; regulatory compliance consulting and processing; and, environmental mitigation design.

The scope of experience for this position is flexible and, depending on experience and ability, related responsibilities may include: task management and coordination; agency consultation and communication; technical writing and editing; project process streamlining; networking; project management (including work plans, estimates, proposals, and billing); client consultation and communication; training and mentoring junior staff; and, soliciting work from existing and prospective clients.

This position offers significant opportunity for career growth in Houston and potentially nationwide. Overnight travel may be required.

Qualifications:

Analytical and problem solving ability. Very strong and demonstrated technical and technical writing skills. Working knowledge of Word, Excel, Outlook and Internet.

Ability to effectively coordinate both small and complex projects, and streamline project processes. Demonstrated communications skills. ASTM Environmental Site Assessment experience preferred. PWS certification is preferred.

BS or MS in biology, environmental science or a related field. 2 to 10 years of professional experience providing environmental consulting services. Wetlands training and experience, including plant and soils identification.

Regulatory compliance (environmental) experience with federal, state, and local regulatory agencies and regulations, such as: USACE, USFWS, USDA, FHWA, FERC, TPWD, THC, TXDOT, NEPA, CWA (NPDES), ESA, NHPA, FPPA, DOTA, and/or OPA.
