Position Overview:

KEMA Services, Inc. is seeking capable and experienced individuals to join us as sustainable building consulting engineers, at entry and senior levels, on our exciting and innovative public and private sector green building, LEED and energy efficiency projects. Our projects cover all of the LEED systems including NC, CS, CI, EB, Homes and ND. We also provide consulting on GreenPoint Rated projects. Our office is located in a restored Victorian building in downtown Oakland, close to bus and BART lines. Positions are also available in Southern California.

Responsibilities:

  • Applying technical knowledge of energy efficiency in HVAC and lighting systems, building automation/controls, renewables, indoor environmental quality, energy modeling and related green building and sustainable design topics
  • Providing green building design assistance to building owners, design and construction project teams
  • Applying an understanding of the LEED documentation process
  • Familiarity with building design and construction
  • Water use planning also a plus

Qualifications:

The ideal candidates will have prior building and/or energy engineering experience, preferably working with LEED or energy efficiency, on commercial, mixed use or multifamily projects.  LEED Accreditation is required, and experience on LEED projects a plus.  They will also be team-oriented people who can work in a fast-paced office with minimal supervision and who possess strong verbal communication skills.

Senior team members will have project management experience, and be capable of leading project teams, interfacing directly with clients and prospective clients and design and construction teams. 

Preference will be given to applicants with a professional engineering license or who are a Certified Facility Manager, or Certified Energy Manager.

Applicants must be fully authorized to work in the U.S.
