Description

Everglades Partner Joint Venture (EPJV) is a joint venture of Parsons and PBS&J providing multidisciplinary services in project and program management to the Corps in the South Florida restoration effort.

The Florida Everglades was once a free flowing river of grass, filtering nutrients from surface water on its way from Central Florida to Florida Bay. The impounding of Lake Okeechobee and the creation of canals to provide flood protection and convey water for agriculture and cities changed the natural environment of south Florida tremendously.

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Jacksonville District, in partnership with the South Florida Water Management District and numerous other federal, state, local, and tribal partners, came up with a comprehensive plan to restore the Everglades (known as CERP). CERP is meant to restore the quantity, quality, timing and distribution of water within the greater Everglades ecosystem while providing for other water related needs in south Florida.
