Since our founding in 1991 by former Vermont Governor Madeleine M. Kunin, ISC has led transformative community-driven projects in 18 countries across the globe.

Position Overview:

The Institute for Sustainable Communities (ISC) is seeking a senior professional to build on and significantly expand our current climate-related activities to help communities in the United States, China and beyond build the capacity to address the causes and consequences of climate change.

Responsibilities:

The position will be responsible for directing and developing the work of ISC's environmental and climate change programming, which includes fund raising, project design and implementation, strategic planning, monitoring and evaluation, financial oversight and human resource management.

Qualifications:

The successful candidate will be a creative and dedicated senior professional with an extensive background in environmental and/or climate change programming as well as business development/fund raising. Direct experience with community-based climate change mitigation and adaptation is desired. The person must be a strong, effective manager and team player with excellent communication skills.
