Founded in 1981, AKRF brings together the talents of over 225 scientists, planners, engineers, cultural resource specialists, historians and other technical staff from six locations, including in New Jersey (Marlton), Maryland (Baltimore), Connecticut, and New York (New York City, White Plains, and Long Island), to handle a wide variety of projects for public agencies, private clients, and municipalities, and to deliver solutions to environmental problems with substantial, measurable value.
Qualifications
AKRF's New York City office is seeking a Natural Resources Professional with 3-5 years of experience and a strong ecological background.
Must have B.S degree in Natural or Environmental Sciences; a Master's degree is preferred. Must have experience in coastal ecology with a specialization in one or more of the following areas: benthic ecology, sediment/toxicity interactions, estuarine processes or waterfront permitting. Knowledge of wetland plants, ecological restoration methods and natural resources field experience a plus.
The successful candidate must be detail-oriented, have excellent oral and written communication skills, and be able to work well independently and as part of a team under tight deadlines.
