Architectural Energy Corporation (AEC) is one of the leading, and most experienced, engineering firms in the field of sustainable building design and management. For over 25 years we have assisted owners, designers, and builders in the construction and maintenance of energy efficient buildings.

We focus on commercial structures, streamlining the facilities of many of the biggest corporations in America. We also offer energy modeling tools (VisualDOE and RemRate), diagnostic equipment, expertise for policymakers (e.g. leading the development of California's energy code), and have a growing residential services division.

Position Overview:

This person filling this position will manage and grow the Sustainable Building Services unit for Architectural Energy Corporation's (AEC) San Francisco office. S/he will locate new business opportunities, manage relationships with long-term clients, and coordinate a talented staff of engineers and designers to bring significant energy savings to fruition in the commercial building sector.

Business development responsibilities include:

- Find and secure business relationships with the numerous firms - from corporations to architects - who are discovering the importance of sustainable design.
- Nurture the ongoing relationships that AEC has secured with designers and corporations and respond to their growing demands for sustainable building services.
- Develop new models for meeting the sustainable design needs of our clients that more seamlessly intersects with the client's facility management decisions.
- Prepare project proposals, negotiate terms, and assure both internal and external compliance with the contracts in a manner that fosters a continuing business relationship.

Management responsibilities include:

- Help develop and implement company wide training procedures and project protocols to maintain our highest quality of service in the face of significant growth.
- Work with project managers to efficiently distribute resources between projects and anticipate future staff needs. Locate new staff as necessary.
- Assist in the development of annual revenue, operating cost, and profit goals.
- Maintain a database of project deadlines and assure prompt performance.
- Coordinate staff evaluations, promote professional training opportunities, and help to mentor the sustainable building services staff.
