NativeEnergy is a pioneering company in the North American carbon offset market, working with the highest profile leaders fighting global warming as the exclusive carbon offset provider for Al Gore's movie An Inconvenient Truth and Hillary Clinton's presidential campaign. We also partner with Clif Bar, Green Mountain Coffee and American Express, as well as environmentally-minded travel companies and organizations, such as Backroads and Sierra Club Outings, as we help build new renewable energy projects on Native American lands and on small family farms.
Responsibilities:
We are seeking a motivated, dynamic and experienced individual to:
- Travel to domestic and international industry conferences, tradeshows and events, many of which have agreed to offset emissions related to the event, to represent NativeEnergy and create awareness around our unique model of carbon offset projects and the value of partnering with us.
- Sales - Provide information to clients on all options for offset purchases and help them select product based on available supply, calculate offset purchases and present bids.
- Write compelling proposals in response to RFPs from major corporations and international organizations.
- Develop partnerships with high-profile businesses and organizations in the travel industry to present the concept of corporate offset programs with the highest level of professionalism.
- Help identify strategic opportunities and assist in coordinating marketing efforts in response to new opportunities.
- Participate actively in the conceptualization and development of our email marketing and lead generation efforts.
- Manage clients - maintain a responsive relationship to client needs & identify new opportunities for sales working with clients suppliers and partners
Qualifications:
- Proven ability to develop online and offline corporate partnerships to leverage market reach, preferably within the travel industry.
- Ability to close sales of a complex set of renewable energy-related products, involving understanding of a technical field.
- Excellent verbal, written and general communication skills.
- Available to travel 25-50% of the time.
- Established list of contacts in the travel industry highly desirable.
- Ability to multi-task and understand the marketing priorities of a small business.
- B.A. or higher.
This position is initially on a 6-month full-time contract basis. Subsequent full-time permanent employment is possible. Virtual workplace may be negotiated.
