Description
Conservation, Education and Recreation - that's the mission of McHenry County Conservation District - to manage, preserve and restore over 21,000 acres of natural areas and open spaces in McHenry County of northern Illinois.
The long-term viability of the county's biodiversity is promoted, and opportunities for responsible recreational land use and environmental education programs are provided to the public. MCCD hopes to inspire respect for the land by exposing people to the wonders of nature and the knowledge of sound environmental practices.
The following Internships are available for Summer 2008:
Environmental Education Intern, Land & Facilities Ranger Intern, Natural Resource Management Research Field Station Intern, and Wildlife Resource Center Intern.
Interns are paid $7.75/hour, and housing is available for $50/ week on a "first come" basis.
