Interim Director, Seattle Climate Partnership

Serve as a senior staff member of the Office of Sustainability & Environment, which works to accelerate the adoption of environmentally sustainable practices by City government and in the community.

Direct the Seattle Climate Partnership, a program that helps Seattle-area employers assess and reduce their carbon footprints in ways that create cost-savings and other economic opportunities, and reduce risks associated with climate change.

The Seattle Climate Partnership is a key element of the Mayor's Climate Protection Initiative. This position reports to the OSE director. The position is responsible for significantly growing the membership of the Partnership, strengthening the technical assistance and other components of the program, and developing and implementing a strategy for transitioning the Partnership into a self-supporting, stand-alone business organization in 2009.

Develop and manage the Partnership work program and budget of approximately $100,000; recruit large Seattle area employers to the Partnership; design and implement networking and recognition programs; design and launch a program website; define a fund development, governance structure and succession strategy to create a sustainable, stand-alone organization; and staff the Founding Partners, the Partnership's 12-member steering committee.

Successful performance of these duties will require strong customer focus, demonstrated track record in teamwork in a multi-cultural environment, ability to work effectively with diverse communities, and commitment to the Mayor's Race and Social Justice Initiative.
