Due to rapid growth, GEC is continuously adding Test Engineers to our Testing and Measurements Group. Positions are available in Seattle, Washington, and Lowell, Massachusetts, although all new employees will need to train in Seattle. Please specify which location you are applying to.
Responsibilities:
Design, manage, implement, and report on various tests and measurements of wind turbine equipment and meteorological measurements systems. Procure and/or fabricate mechanical test fixtures. Install and calibrate measurement systems in the field. Be responsibile for quality of incoming data and troubleshoot measurement problems remotely and in the field. Analyze incoming data and report on findings per relevant standards and company practices.
Qualifications:
Strong written, verbal, and analytical skills are required. Familiarity with wind power engineering, meteorological measurements, and electrical power measurements is beneficial but not required. Previous instrumentation experience is required. Experience with Campbell Scientific, Inc. data acquisition systems is a plus.
Must be able to work in confined spaces on towers up to 140 meters tall, lift 60 lbs, and have a valid driver's license. Significant travel will be required.
The ability to write clear and accurate reports is essential.
Bachelor's degree in electrical, mechanical, or other engineering discipline preferred, scientific backgrounds with relevant experience will be considered. Two or more years of work experience preferred.
