Global Green USA is the U.S. Affiliate of President Mikhail Gorbachev's Green Cross International. 

Global Green USA is searching for an experienced Director of Development to lead its overall fundraising national and regional fundraising efforts. The Director of Development will be responsible for meeting and exceeding budget and fundraising goals of a growing, dynamic national organization based in Los Angeles with offices in Washington, DC, and New Orleans.

Reports to: President and COO. Staff: Major Gifts Officer, Director of Foundation & Corporate Relations, Development Associate (database), Membership and Campus Outreach Coordinator, Grant Writer, Special Events Coordinator 

Responsibilities

Overall Management - 40%:

Strategically manages the department. Holds Development staff accountable and manages day-to-day operations of the department. Strategic fundraising and maximization of existing assets - including database - as well as creating new opportunities for the organization through strategies proposed by the Director of Development 

Special Event Planning - 20%:

Manage and collaborate with Communications Director, Event Coordinator, staff and consultants to plan and execute 2 annual dinners, Pre-Oscars Party, and other fundraising and cultivation events. Responsible for raising the budgeted gross and keeping expenses in line with mutually agreed upon budget. 

Board of Directors and Committee Management - 5%:

Board of Directors Cultivation/Management. Manage regional committees with the purpose of additional fundraising, communicate frequently with key members, and facilitate and plan meetings. 

Foundation and Corporate Prospecting, Solicitation, and Management - 10% 

Manage prospecting and researching new sources of funding, including corporate, foundation, and individual. Manage writing grant proposals and increase the amount that we request for general support by 100% in the first year and 50% thereafter. Coordinate and follow-up grant proposals and reporting. Oversee the grants calendar to ensure timely and correct reporting. 

Donors - 15% 

Major donor prospecting/solicitations and ensure that the major gifts officer is keeping up to date on solicitations. Maintain contact with all donors of $500 or more at least three times a year, including one ask. Strategically grow and maintain a membership program that solicits fees through volunteers, interns, the Resource Centers and the Communication department and other avenues. 

Data Base Management - 5%:

Ensure that the database is used to its maximum capacity for fundraising, membership, communications and e-activism. Ensure it is kept current and used per the database plan (to be developed). 

Finance & Admin - 5%

Preparation of the annual Development budgets and work plan. Keep track of Development program budgets and ensure goals are met.

Salary: $70,000 - $100,000 DOE
