The Position 

The firm seeks an Associate/Sr. Associate /facilitator with 5 - 10 years of experience in CA water, San Joaquin Valley, Bay Delta, environmental restoration and fish management issues. The individual sought must have experience in community outreach, public outreach, and public affairs. This must include managing and facilitating collaborative processes involving stakeholders from state and federal natural resource, regulatory agencies, tribes, environmental organizations, industry and local interests. 

Qualifications:

* 5-10 years of relevant experience (facilitation, public involvement, collaborative processes) on technical water management and environmental restoration issues.  
* Experienced, effective community outreach coordinator/facilitator with the ability to assist the client as needed and facilitate technical stakeholder meetings.  
* Ability to work in Sacramento, California and travel to other areas in Northern and Central California periodically.
* Experience with San Joaquin Valley stakeholders and issues.  
* Proven ability to design and lead collaborative processes with senior-level stakeholders.  
* Proven ability to analyze and explain complex environmental issues and regulations, particularly those related to water use in California.  
* Proven ability to support client needs in meeting preparation, scheduling, materials development, creation of session summaries.  
* Proven ability to provide clients with strategic counsel on public involvement/collaboration and environmental/natural resource regulatory processes (NEPA, CEQA, ESA, etc.).  
* A style that fits with the firm's positive team culture, both within the Firm and with the stakeholder teams we work with. 

The Candidate 

The ideal candidate for this position will have an educational and professional background in the following areas: natural resources, environmental sciences, and public policy. A master's degree, legal background or experience in state or federal government is a plus.

Skills and Knowledge: The selected candidate should have a thorough understanding of natural resource issues and affairs, as well as regulatory and environmental processes. The candidate will also be skilled in developing, maintaining and strengthening client relations. He/She should have significant experience working with regulators, stakeholders and state and federal agencies and widespread contacts.

Compensation: The compensation consists of a competitive base salary (within a negotiated range) and incentive pay structure and will be dependent upon the qualifications and experience of the selected candidate.
