Description

The successful candidate will serve as an environmental professional in American Electric Power's Air Quality Services Section in Dallas, Texas. 

The candidate will be required to develop a fundamental understanding of electric generating plant equipment and operational procedures - particularly emissions control and monitoring equipment, material handling equipment, and obligations for compliance with air quality regulations. 

The candidate will perform air quality analyses related to ambient air quality evaluations and calculate emissions from plant sources to support permitting and reporting requirements. 

Responsibilities include: 

- Implementing procedures, controls and training to facilitate compliance
- Interacting with generating plant personnel to ensure understanding of environmental compliance obligations
- Providing complete and timely response to agency and generating plant inquiries
- Administering permitting modifications and renewals as needed
- Understanding and Implementing state and federal environmental reporting programs as they relate to power generation
- Preparing and submitting all required reports, particularly for Title V compliance certification obligations
- Monitoring state legislation/regulations potentially impacting the company
- Interfacing with regulatory agencies as AEP's representative
- Supporting environmental improvement initiatives for assigned facilities
- Performing other technical and administrative functions as assigned 

The candidate should possess excellent communication and organizational skills and an ability to prioritize and produce accurate, detailed work. 

Qualifications: 

- Entry level or up to 2 years experience.
- Must have Bachelors Degree in Engineering or Environmental Science. Proficient with Microsoft Office products, particularly Word and Excel. 

Salary: Minimum starting salary is $48,000 annually.
