Overall Function:
The Development Associate coordinates and disseminates information to members of the Development Department. The Development Associate develops and shares technical expertise with databases and reporting software used in the department. The Development Associate participates in department-wide initiatives and projects as requested.
Key Responsibilities:
* Coordinates and disseminates information to development staff including writing/distributing bi-weekly bulletins, maintaining document library and electronic workspace. Establishes systems and procedures to capture and store relevant information in an easily accessible, retrievable manner. Trains staff on file structure to ensure consistency across department. Troubleshoots questions and/or problems.
* Acts as point of contact for technical questions and issues relating to PledgeMaker, Business Objects and other technology used within the department. Creates and generates standard and ad hoc reports as requested, works with staff to ensure data integrity of database, creates new codes as necessary. Trains new and existing staff on database and reporting applications; troubleshoots problems and serves as a resource for staff. Liaises with Donor Records to resolve issues and conducts audits to ensure data integrity. Develops and implements workflow methods to enhance efficiency of operations.
* Assists with fundraising efforts by coordinating mailings and appeals to Catalyst Circle members. Creates materials used in mailings and targeted outreach. Communicates with donors as required.
* Participates in department-wide initiatives, projects, meetings and retreats as requested.
* Maintains currency in trends in development, fundraising and related areas.
Qualifications:
* Bachelors degree in related field preferred.
* 3 - 5 years project coordination, preferably in a development/fundraising environment.
* Experience with donor databases required; experience with PledgeMaker preferred. Experience with Business Objects, Crystal reports or SQL strongly preferred.
* Proficiency with MS Office Suite; demonstrated proficiency with Word and Excel required.
* Ability to distill complex information and present relevant conclusions in a coherent, concise manner.
* Well developed project management skills.
* Clear and understandable oral and written communication skills.
* Ability to work with and maintain confidential information.
* Ability to work with detailed information and produce accurate work in a timely manner.
* Ability to manage multiple projects with competing deadlines.
* Demonstrated organization skills.
