EPA Energy Star Labeling Program - Products Branch; Climate Protection Partnerships Division
The U.S. EPA's Energy Star Product Labeling Program Program is looking for an
energetic individual to help communicate and promote Energy Star-qualified products and related offerings to consumers, businesses, traditional and non-traditional partners, and media.
The Energy Star Program is EPA's premier voluntary program, reducing greenhouse gas emissions by promoting energy efficiency. The Energy Star Labeling Branch is responsible for developing and maintaining energy efficiency criteria for a variety of products that are marketed under the Energy Star label. The branch utilizes multiple, integrated communications tactics to promote the benefits of Energy Star to key
audiences. Energy Star is one of the most recognizable brands in the US today.
The position involves development and implementation of communications strategies designed to promote Energy Star products and expertise to wide audiences. Responsibilities include media outreach, public relations/education, collaboration with program partners and other stakeholders, and developing communications materials and resources.
The ideal candidate will have a strong communications background, excellent written and oral communications skills, and experience working effectively with media. Knowledge of/experience applying social marketing tools and methods is also desirable. Additionally, we are looking for excellent organizational skills, creativity, and the ability to work independently as well as on teams.
