The Business Alliance for Local Living Economies (BALLE) is an alliance of independent, local business networks around the US and Canada dedicated to building long-term economic empowerment and prosperity in communities through local business ownership, economic justice, cultural diversity, and a healthy natural environment.

BALLE is seeking a full-time Administrative Coordinator.

Requirements: 

This position requires an extremely organized, self-motivated, and energetic person with excellent web, project management, and communication skills. 

Must enjoy working with people over the phone, through e-mail, and in person. 

Software skills:  Excel and Word proficiency required; HTML basics and knowledge of Quickbooks a plus. Bachelor's degree preferred. 

Responsibilities: 

The administrative coordinator will handle the following tasks for BALLE: 

  • Support other staff with production of events and regional trainings     
  • Answer initial inquiries and ongoing questions by phone and e-mail; mail out informational packets as needed     
  • Help coordinate IT contractors integrate local network websites; troubleshoot various IT challenges within office     
  • Keep information packets current; update our networks when new information is made available     
  • Coordinate board and various committee calls and agendas, and take minutes     
  • Help gather (by phone, e-mail, web) and disseminate best practices from member networks, including updating the members-only section of the website (tools, templates, etc.)     
  • Help manage the contact database and bookkeeping     
  • Handle invoicing and other record-keeping in coordination with other staff     
  • Coordinate public appearances and writings from members, speaker's bureau, advisory board j. Update website with new information, press, meetings/events     
  • Assist in fundraising activities, specifically to research grant proposals for selected foundations and process donations     
  • Provide support for ongoing projects as needed

Compensation: 

$15/hour. A health insurance stipend will also be provided. 

Hours: 

This is a full-time position at 40 hrs/week.
