Chevron is looking to fill an open position for an ESHIA-Biodiversity Advisor for our Corporate Health, Environment and Safety Department in Chevron's headquarters in San Ramon, California (San Francisco Bay Area). This is a key position for Chevron and total compensation will be over $100,000, so experience is important.

Position 

The individual filling the ESHIA-Biodiversity Advisor position will assist the Environment Manager in supporting Chevron's Environmental, Social and Health Impact Assessment (ESHIA) standard process and Chevron's biodiversity-related activities.

* Key ESHIA responsibilities (estimated 50% of time) involve coordinating deployment and implementation of the ESHIA process throughout the enterprise through training, resources, participating in project-specific ESHIA reviews, and process reviews and evaluation. 

* Key biodiversity responsibilities (estimated 50% of time) will involve promoting and communicating biodiversity-conservation objectives, activities and best practice sharing throughout the corporation; monitoring emerging aspects of biodiversity issues in the external arena (such as environmental markets); participating in industry association activities; working with external conservation organizations; and tracking company performance. 

The qualified candidate will have 5-10 years experience in government, non-profits or the private sector working with biodiversity-related science and policy issues, has strong skills in strategy development and implementation, project management, and building networks and teams, and holds at least a Masters degree in Biology, Ecology, Environmental Management or Policy, or closely-related field.
