WiserEarth (www.wiserearth.org) is a community directory and networking forum of over 100,000 nonprofit organizations worldwide working towards social justice and ecological restoration. This directory is organized into over 400 different areas of focus: climate change, poverty, peace, water, hunger, social justice, conservation, human rights, and more. Content is created by people like you from around the world.

Research Intern

We are seeking a highly motivated person that has the skills and flexibility to research regional and topic-specific content, to build and expand WiserEarth's knowledge base.

Skills & Qualities Required:

- Research experience, excellent computer skills, eye for detail, self motivated
- Ability to succeed in both a team setting as well as individually, especially when telecommuting
- Flexibility to pick up projects and tasks on an ad-hoc basis
- Passionate about affecting positive change in the world
- Great sense of humor and upbeat attitude

Communications/Outreach Intern

We are seeking an organized, positive, self-motivated person with experience building networks and partnerships to assist us in spreading the word about WiserEarth.
(Student Outreach positions also available)

Skills & Qualities Required:

- Communications or media/marketing background
- Experience conducting grassroots outreach campaigns, as outreach is targeted within a specific geographic region (Europe, Africa, Asia, North America, Central/South America)
- Passionate about affecting positive change
- Outgoing, energetic, friendly personality
- Language skills a plus

Web Development Intern

We are looking for a self-motivated person to join our web development team and assist with the architecture and organization of the WiserEarth website. This includes various QA tasks, bug repair, and creative problem solving.
Skills & Qualities Required:
- Web development background, specifically in web design/structure
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to be flexible with ideas and work in a group setting
- Creative about accomplishing goals
- Passionate about affecting positive change

Translation Volunteer

We are seeking volunteers with excellent grammar and language skills to translate several documents that will be critical to getting the word out about WiserEarth to the global community.

Skills & Qualities Required:

- Fluency in a language that WiserEarth is currently lacking: (German, Italian, Portuguese, Mandarin, Arabic, Hindi, Russian, Japanese, etc)
- Editing skills to translate and review foreign language press releases, homepage design, and major webpages of WiserEarth

Hours and Compensation:

Full-time Internship: Three month commitment of 4 days/week, 8:30-5 PST, 30 hours minimum. This position is currently unpaid, with travel costs reimbursed.

Part-time Internship: Three month commitment of 2 days/week, 8:30-5 PST. This position is currently unpaid, with travel costs reimbursed.
