Description
Excellent position in a friendly informal office environment! You will be performing administrative and management duties for two small organizations: Earth Day New York, an environmental non-profit organization and e4, inc., a rapidly growing green building consulting firm. The position supports and directly reports to the President of both companies.
This is an excellent job for someone who is interested in increasing responsibility and has strong managerial skills. Ability to do bookkeeping is a plus but not a requirement.
Duties include:
· Day-to-day administrative operations of Earth Day New York and e4, inc.
· Accounts payable and receivable processes including invoicing, preparing payments, tracking expenses, preparing deposits and transfers, preparing reports, and assisting with financial tracking and analysis.
· Information and referrals for external requests and calls to the organization.
· Benefit administration, including enrollments, terminations and billing.
· Office and project file maintenance.
· Service calls for office systems.
· Liaison with building management.
· Company employment records.
· Office supplies.
· Fostering a professional and warm office environment for staff and visitors.
· Other administrative duties, as needed.
Qualifications:
1. Two+ years of administrative work with increasing levels of responsibility and performance
2. Ability to think independently and carry out duties listed above
3. Excellent attention to detail and deadlines
4. Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
5. Must be a motivated individual capable of working independently and exercising good judgment
6. Strong knowledge of QuickBooks, Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) and Access or other computer systems
7. A personal commitment and interest in sustainability and environmental protection is highly desirable
