The Marine Fish Conservation Network (Network), a national coalition of over 190 national, regional, and local environmental organizations, recreational and commercial fishing groups, aquariums, and marine science groups dedicated to marine fish conservation and committed to long-term reform of U.S. ocean fisheries laws, is seeking an Executive Director in its Washington, DC office. Responsibilities: The Executive Director's shall report to the Board of Directors and be responsible for: 

* Overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Network;
* Supervising a 12 person staff of organizers, policy experts, and administrators located in 5 offices throughout the country;
* Managing the finances of the Network including developing budgets, reports, and tax filings;
* Coordinating and executing the Network's fundraising strategy, including identifying and cultivating support from foundations, corporations, and individuals, and writing proposals for and reporting on new and existing grants;
* Keeping the Board of Directors informed regarding the fiscal and structural status of the Network;
* Working in close cooperation with the Network's Board of Advisors to develop and implement Network policies and strategies;
* Directing Network staff in refining strategies and in identifying and implementing tactics to execute the strategies developed by the Board of Advisors; and
* Serving as spokesperson for the Network. 

Qualifications: 

Minimum of 10 years experience in environmental policy development and at least five years of management experience. Candidates must be organized, able to manage multiple projects, and comfortable in a fast-paced work environment. They should have a good understanding of campaign-focused advocacy, including developing strategy, organizing, and media relations. Candidates must have direct experience in non-profit or academic fundraising and strong writing and communications skills. An advanced degree in environmental science, political science, environmental law, or a related field is desirable. Knowledge of federal fisheries management policies is desirable, but not required. 

Compensation: The salary range for this position is $90,000 to $110,000; benefits include generous paid vacation and sick time, health and disability insurance, and a retirement plan.
