Description
Using funding from the sale of renewable energy certificates (RECs), which it calls Green Tags, Bonneville Environmental Foundation (BEF) implements integrated philanthropic programs that aim to simultaneously a) restore watershed ecosystems, b) educate communities about renewable energy and conservation, and c) expand the generation of clean renewable energy.
BEF is a non-profit foundation that thinks like a business. Our ideal candidate is a self-starter with a strong background in media and public relations and an interest in learning more about renewable energy and environmental protection.
Specific Responsibilities
* Develop and maintain a Press kit for the Foundation.
* Proactively manage the Foundation's external communications and requests for information from the media.
* Maximize existing media opportunities for BEF and its corporate and utility customers.
* Develop celebration events and media relationships for BEF's Program Management Group, including its Solar4RSchools program.
* Establish a communications plan for BEF's watershed restoration programs.
* Oversee the development of appropriate newsletters.
Required Skills
* Writing. Ability to communicate effectively in writing.
* Critical thinking.
* Intellectual curiosity- willingness to learn about renewable energy, watershed restoration and non-profit organizations.
* Resourceful, creative thinker.
* 5+ years of experience in public outreach or media relations.
