Description
The Green Roundtable is a leader and innovator in the field of sustainable development and green building initiatives. We are an independent nonprofit organization whose mission is to mainstream sustainable development through strategic programs in education, policy and technical assistance.
GRT helps building owners to establish their criteria for green building, trains design and construction professionals to be able to meet owner demand and works on policy and incentive initiatives to make sustainable design strategies 'business as usual'. GRT's goal is to transform the market and current practice to ultimately become obsolete.
GRT has pioneered a variety of programs that combine our education, policy and technical assistance activities in ways that engage and intrigue people while appealing to their common sense. NeXus, the all-in-one green building resource center, Boot Camp 18 month program to transform Design Firms and Community Outreach Program (green city policy) are examples of how GRT connects dots and provides rich opportunities for interaction both professionally and personally. GRT is also an Affiliate of the US Green Building Council.
We are seeking talented, committed individuals to fill two positions for our Technical Assistance/Consulting work. The first position is for green building consultant, providing detailed analysis and technical peer review and the second is a management position to oversee, manage and mentor our existing TA staff:

This position requires a bachelor's degree and 10 years experience or an advanced degree and 6 years of experience. The candidate for this position should have background, experience or at least a high degree of comfort with mechanical engineering and architecture.
This person would have three areas of responsibility:
A. Project management: specific design assistance working directly with clients (building owners and/or developers) on projects using rating systems (LEED, GGHC, CHPS) and others that go beyond.
B. Ongoing technology research and innovation (non project specific) and

Identifying and designing on-going research is encouraged to quantify needed information that will contribute to improving building performance, lessening environmental impact or improving long-term durability and quality.
Research areas have short and long term goals. They can assist single or a collection of projects in the region, or can provide the foundation for an area of information that may not currently be present or easily accessible. GRT has executed grant-funded research in the past, will continue and expand these efforts.
C. Because of our commitment and involvement in high leverage market transformation, GRT is often hired or funded to participate in policy strategies, changes or initiation. These are open to input and involvement. Education is a foundation element in all that we do, both through our consulting as well as through specific education or training programs.
Key tasks include assisting development of custom trainings, workshop curriculum, and teaching in educational programs run by GRT or in collaboration with institutions or other organizations. Personal continuing education is also highly valued and supported financially.
