The U.S. Green Building Council, a Washington, DC-based national nonprofit organization of over 8,000 corporate and organizational members that is dedicated to promoting environmentally-responsible, profitable and healthy places to live and work, is currently seeking an energetic professional with a passion for providing excellent customer service to support its Professional Accreditation program.
The Accreditation Associate will provide support, guidance, and administration for those seeking accreditation under LEED and continuing education, and for the accreditation program and its committees.
Specific Responsibilities Include:
- Provide extensive email and phone customer service to all candidates and Accredited Professionals; and answer general questions about accreditation
- Manage incoming data and prepare certificate printings and mailings
- Assist exam candidates through the accreditation process and respond to problems and complaints regarding the program
- Improve candidate resources and update program materials
- Support volunteer committees in the development and refinement of examinations
- Process candidate appeals
- Communicate with test development consultants, and exam candidates regarding the accreditation process.
- Record, update and maintain database of applicants and certified individuals
- Assist on implementing re-accreditation tracking system and process re-accreditation requests
- Perform other departmental tasks as assigned
- Improve the credibility and professionalism of the LEED AP credential
- Enhance value of the credential through increased visibility of LEED APs as well as improved customer resources from USGBC
- Excellent customer service skills working with diverse candidate populations in high-stakes testing situations
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent
- Minimum 1 year professional office experience
- Ability to handle multiple tasks
- Strong computer skills with fluency in MS Office Suite and experience working with databases
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Careful attention to detail and organizational skills
- Experience working with volunteer committees and non-profit associations
- Commitment to USGBC mission
