Description

Borrego Solar Systems, Inc, a growing, solar energy design, engineering and installation company, seeks an Assistant Solar PV Project Manager for our South Bay Area branch.

We are seeking a well-organized person who would like to advance his or her career in the solar industry. This position requires time spent in an office and warehouse environment, as well as time in the field. Project locations vary all over the South Bay area, with travel to our other branches on occasion.

Position Responsibilities will include but not be limited to: 

* Maintain complicated schedules, develop project timelines, and manage people and materials to complete jobs on schedule 
* Work closely with Borrego's Berkeley Branch to leverage centralized resources and help the growth of the San Jose satellite office 
* Receive deliveries and maintain an organized warehouse 
* Set minimum inventory quantities and proactively order materials
* Work with planning and building departments to pull permits and schedule and pass inspections Independently manage performance and productivity of installation teams * Coordinate the construction of multiple projects simultaneously 
* Obtain and discuss daily updates and changes from and for the installers
* Ensure installers have everything they need to start and finish a job 
* Collect timesheets, per diems etc. from installers 
* Perform any and all duties to help support the growth of a satellite office 

Desired Qualifications: 

* Experience installing or project managing solar PV construction projects 
* Understanding of grid-tied PV system design 
* Previous project management or foreman experience 
* Ability to organize, utilize and motivate team members quickly to respond to changes in the construction schedule
* Ability to read, understand, and edit electrical and structural plans 
* Good at problem solving and implementing site-specific design modifications
* Experience with AutoCAD programming 
* Understanding of the NEC Code and the ability to reference the code as required 
* Knowledge of Universal Building Codes and building materials and techniques (i.e. lumber, roofing materials, etc.)
* Experience managing subcontractors in other trades 
* Experience working with city/county permitting offices and inspectors
* Desire to work with building departments to pull permits and schedule and pass inspections
* Proficiency on a PC computer in MS Office (Emphasis on Excel, Outlook)
* Positive 'can-do' attitude 
* H.S. Diploma required (4-year college degree preferred) 

This is NOT an entry-level position. We are seeking a candidate with solar, electrical construction, project management, warehouse management or CAD design experience.
