Low Impact Living, Inc. is a start-up working to help homeowners improve the environmental sustainability of their homes and lifestyles. The company's website provides deep educational content on steps homeowners can take to reduce their environmental impact, and the site also sells do-it-yourself home improvement products and provides recommendations to currently over 2000 nationwide green service providers. Low Impact Living seeks to expand its online listings of green service providers significantly and rapidly, and is looking for an exception person to oversee this line of business for the company.
Director of Supplier Services Job Responsibilities
* Director will be responsible for building LIL's online network of environmental service providers
* Assesses suppliers who apply to join the LIL network
* Seeks out new suppliers and categories for the network (e.g., organic restaurants)
* Responds to supplier inquiries and ensures their satisfaction with LIL offering
* Has quarterly sales and retention targets for (LIL charges quarterly listing fees)
* Reports to CEO and is a key member of the company's management team
Qualifications and Skills
* Applicant must have interest in environmental preservation
* Sales experience a must; business development experience a plus
* Bachelor's degree and at least 5 years professional experience in sales/partnership development required; MBA a plus
* Any experience with environmental services (e.g. solar, insulation, etc.) a plus
* LEED certification or other environmental credentials a plus
* Applicant must be eager to work in a true start-up environment; must be both a "do-er" and a manager. No job is too small; all members of the LIL team pitch in at all levels
Compensation: Competitive with market; Options package available to qualified individuals.
Location & Travel: Some travel to review and sell suppliers will be necessary, but not excessive; most communication with suppliers can be done via phone and email; Some trade show attendance required.
