Description
The Project Manager/Editor of Sustainable San Mateo County's Indicator Report will be responsible for managing, editing, and coordinating volunteers in the research and writing of approximately 30 Indicators/statistics in the report "Indicators for a Sustainable San Mateo County, A Yearly Report Card on Our County's Quality of Life."
The Project Manager/Editor will act as project leader, ensuring that report development progresses from inception to completion. The overall goal for the Project Manager is to meet the project deadline(s) and to deliver a high-quality report for publication. The Project Manager will also be responsible for writing and/or researching some indicators, as needed.
Preferred Skills/Requirements:
- An understanding of sustainability, specifically as it relates to San Mateo County and generally to the San Francisco Bay Area
- Demonstrated experience in project management, editing and on-line research
- Comfortable and effective in recruiting, managing, and coordinating large groups of volunteers
- Experience developing publication of similar scope from inception to completion
- Extremely detail-oriented and organized, with demonstrated ability to meet multiple deadlines
- Ability to work independently
- Proficient in Word and Excel
- Familiarity with San Mateo County helpful
Compensation:
Eight-month, part-time position, starting in September. $25-35 per hour (depending on experience), approximately 15 hours per week with heaviest time January through March. Contract position without benefits.
