Earthwatch Institute is an international, non-profit organization that engages people worldwide in scientific field research and education to promote the understanding and action necessary for a sustainable environment. Earthwatch is dedicated to working with corporations to achieve our mission. The primary mode of corporate engagement and funding at Earthwatch is our Employee and Teacher Fellowship program. Through this program companies fund the participation of employees, teachers and other stakeholders on 2-week research expeditions. 

Position Summary: 

The Fellowship Officer will play a key role in the effective implementation of our corporate fellowship and funding initiatives. This individual will assist our corporate partners with the logistical details of their respective programs, including but not limited to program promotion, participant recruitment and preparation processes, internal coordination among Earthwatch departments, and post-program evaluation and reporting. He/she will also play a role in corporate relationship management, stewardship and prospect cultivation as determined by the Director of Engagement in conjunction with the Director of Corporate Partnerships and will work with our affiliate offices (UK, Australia, Japan) on matters related to the management of relations with multi-national corporations. 

Core Responsibilities: 

* Oversee the fulfillment of contractual obligations to corporate partners through ongoing contact with sponsors' various departments including Human Resources, Public Relations and Marketing. 

* Work with corporations to promote program marketing and recruitment, including fellowship program application administration, processing all phone and mail inquiries, and actively contacting corporate employees. Includes coordination and placement of corporate fellows on appropriate research expeditions. 

* Under the direction of the Director of Engagement, assist the Director of Corporate Partnerships with grant implementation, stewardship and cultivation activities. 

* Create and maintain tracking documents using Microsoft Office. Update Corporate Development information database and create lists and reports as required. High level of computer proficiency required. 

* Assist the Engagement team with office management including overseeing interns and processing invoices, grants management, and other financial paperwork. 

* Provide general assistance to the engagement team as needed. All Earthwatch staff are expected to participate in staff assignments at our annual conference and occasional evening events as part of their regular job. 

* Occasional travel to various partner meetings including an annual visit to Oxford, England. 

Qualifications/Skills: 

* Bachelor's degree 
* Strong project management, organizational and interpersonal communication skills. 
* Ability to identify problems and to develop creative, timely and efficient solutions. 
* Sense of humor and desire to be part of a team. 
* Expert in MS Word, Excel, and Power Point; knowledge of FileMaker Pro, and Raiser's Edge. 
* Background in corporate, non-profit, and/or fundraising is a plus. 
* Willingness to travel 20% of the time.

Salary range: $30,000 - $35,000 commensurate with experience. Good benefit package. Due to limited time and financial resources we are only able to accept applicants who are already eligible to work in the United States for any employer.
