The U.S. Green Building Council, a Washington, DC-based national nonprofit organization of over 6,000 corporate and organizational members that is dedicated to promoting environmentally-responsible, profitable and healthy places to live and work, currently has an excellent opportunity for a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual who is interested in being part of the growing green building movement.
The Education Administrative Assistant will provide comprehensive administrative support to senior Education & Research department staff, including handling calls and email traffic, scheduling meetings and educational programs, planning travel, preparing documents, filing and copying... all in a fast-paced office environment. Candidates should have the ability to work well with a diverse professional staff, take on special projects and work independently.
Specific Responsibilities Include:
- Schedule and coordinate logistics for staff meetings and in-house education programming
- Prepare correspondence, documents, presentations and reports
- Coordinate travel logistics
- Handle telephone messages and correspondence
- Maintain directory of professional contacts
- Process expense reimbursement requests
- Process department timesheets and expense reports
- Manage staff travel/leave calendar
- Handle general administrative tasks and special projects as needed
- Bachelors degree preferred
- 1-3 years professional office experience
- Attention to detail and ability to handle multiple tasks
- Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills
- Strong organizational and computer skills (MS Office)
- Commitment to USGBC Mission
