Description
The Columbia Land Conservancy (CLC) seeks an experienced, full-time Executive Director.
CLC is a dynamic and innovative land trust that operates in Columbia County, New York, situated south of Albany between the Hudson River and the Berkshire Mountains. Founded in 1986, CLC has grown in the last ten years from an organization with a staff of 4 to a staff of 17, and an annual operating budget of $1.8 million.
We hold conservation easements on 17,600 acres of land; manage or own twelve public conservation areas, totaling 3,000 acres, which are open to the public; operate an extensive environmental education program; and provide planning and technical support to local governments and community groups. We aspire to help preserve and enhance the agricultural character of the County's landscape, and make strong connections between people and the land and open spaces that surround us. We are committed to accomplishing the work of conservation through a community-based approach; and firmly believe that in doing this work, the needs of people are as important as the land.
