Description
The Outdoor Education Coordinator will be responsible for all aspects of educational programming at the Mohican Outdoor Center (MOC), focusing on two key areas:
supporting the AMC's Youth Opportunities Program (YOP) and managing general outdoor education programming.
YOP provides training and support in the AMC's Mid-Atlantic region for more than 100 youth workers to independently lead youth groups into the outdoors. The program makes the outdoors accessible to more than 1,000 urban and at-risk youth per year through provision of training, trip planning assistance, reduced rates at AMC facilities, and use of equipment.
The successful candidate will be responsible for coordination of all aspects of YOP outdoor adventure activities including outreach, training administration, newsletters, camping reservations, equipment, volunteer management, and trip planning assistance.
The Outdoor Education Coordinator will also work collaboratively with the MOC facility manager and staff to increase utilization of the facility by YOP groups, family camp participants, and outdoor education workshops as well as provide advice and guidance on all aspects of educational programming/messaging at the facility.
