Senior Environmental Technician

Milian, Swain & Associates seeks qualified applicants for two Senior Environmental Technician positions associated with work in aquatic, marine, and wetland ecosystems in South Florida. The candidate will work as a member of a team that is collecting data to perform water quality monitoring, vegetation and soil sampling, and subsequent data assessment.

Experience with the methods and equipment needed for water quality, vegetation and soil sampling is required. Candidates must be able to work in remote locations, at times under difficult environmental conditions (heat, humidity, and rain), and in areas occupied by alligators, and snakes. The candidate may be required to operate and work from airboats and outboard boats (15 to 24 ft.).

The successful candidates will possess the ability to provide solutions to situational challenges as they arise. These positions also entail supporting field and laboratory experiments. Minimum requirement is an Associates degree in a natural science related field (experience with wetlands or related fields preferred).
