This is an exciting and unique opportunity for someone who has experience in some or all of the following: coordinating conferences, communications, administration, membership and volunteer support. This opportunity is within a progressive foundation with a community of individuals working to create a more just, joyful and sustainable world.
This position is responsible for the planning and delivery of two annual conferences, and for coordinating the communications and member-volunteer functions that support, sustain and develop the potential of an external private foundation - Threshold Foundation (www.thresholdfoundation.org) - which is supported by Tides Foundation. In addition, this person participates in appropriate cross-functional project teams inside Tides Foundation.
Conferences:
Leads efforts in the planning and implementation of two annual Conferences (including negotiating contracts with conference facilities, coordinating venue space, meal planning and event production with venue staff) Coordinates conference program committee meetings and manages their timelines Maintains conference budgets and tracks expenses for each event Processes conference registrations and tracks revenues Leads marketing and communications efforts for conferences Communications:
Develops and manages program of ongoing membership mailings (dues renewals, contribution solicitations, reminder letters, receipts and acknowledgement letters) Manages and maintains Threshold organization websites Develops marketing materials for conferences Manages production of hard copy newsletters and annual report Writes copy for emails, letters and other communications, as needed Membership Support and Volunteer Coordination:
Coordinates logistics for volunteer-led committees (includes list management and online collaboration tools), including tracking commitments and supporting accountable volunteer leadership and effective group processes Creates and implements systems for acknowledging volunteer efforts and developing volunteers as leaders and peer trainers General Support:
Participates in Threshold Board meetings and Network Committee planning meetings Provides support to Threshold Foundation Manager and general operations of Threshold Foundation, as needed Assists with administrative duties such as mailings, calls, taking minutes and other miscellaneous projects consistent with workflow of a small staff Requirements:
College degree Minimum 3 years of related experience Previous work experience may include one or more of the following: development, marketing/communications, or volunteer- or member-services for a small non-profit, affinity group, or association where staff wear many hats Demonstrated ability to manage groups of volunteers, support and utilize online social networking tools, produce large scale events, workshops or retreats, generate printed materials in-house and maintain websites in-house Demonstrated project management skills Experience coordinating outside design and production vendors Experience with databases and list management Experience working with donors and high net worth individuals, a plus Knowledge:
Strong computer skills (e.g. knowledge of Word, Excel and PowerPoint; proficiency with PC computers); basic HTML editing skills; familiarity with desktop publishing and design/layout programs such as Quark, Pagemaker, InDesign

Must be able to travel independently for up to 10 days at a time twice a year and possibly 3-5 days 3 times per year.
