Description

The U.S. Green Building Council, a Washington, DC-based national nonprofit organization of over 5,000 corporate and organizational members that is dedicated to promoting environmentally-responsible, profitable and healthy places to live and work is currently seeking a Program Coordinator to provide comprehensive support to staff leading the development and implementation of the Existing Buildings (EB) and Commercial Interiors (CI) versions of the LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Green Building Rating System.

The responsibilities of the LEED EB/CI Program Coordinatorinclude managing listservs and Website content; coordinating internal USGBC staff support of LEED initiatives; assisting with the development of marketing materials; and performing general administrative duties and special projects as needed.

Specific Responsibilities:

  • Provide comprehensive administrative support to staff in the development and implementation of LEED-EB and LEED-CI programs.
  • Provide comprehensive administrative support to LEED-EB and LEED-CI product committees as needed.
  • Prepare and distribute committee documents, minutes and correspondence.
  • Manage committee listservs, Websites, document archives and calendars.
  • Participate in regular committee conference calls and meetings.
  • Coordinate with chapters, workshops, communications services and memberships departments to promote and implement LEED-EB and LEED-CI in the marketplace.
  • Initiate special projects and research tasks as appropriate to further the success of LEED-EB and LEED-CI.
  • Coordinate with USGBC staff in the development of marketing and outreach materials including presentations, press releases, collaterals, case studies, articles and direct mailings.
  • Coordinate with USGBC staff in the development and implementation of LEED-EB and LEED-CI tradeshow strategies.
  • Handle general administrative tasks and provide general committee support.s
Related Organizational Goals and Objectives:
  • Encourage and accelerate global adoption of green building practices through LEED standards, tools and performance criteria.
  • Offer a comprehensive portfolio of programs including technical tools and services supporting LEED products to meet the diverse needs of the building industry.
  • Deliver customer service that is professional, timely and targeted to the customer's needs.
  • Ensure effective and professional staff support for LEED committees
Qualifications/Skills:
  • 1-2 years relevant professional office experience
  • Bachelors degree in a related building industry or environmental discipline
  • Attention to detail and ability to handle multiple tasks
  • Excellent communication, organizational and computer skills
  • Commitment to USGBC Mission
