MAYA Design seeks an experienced Product Manager to drive the development of products and services that transform the way people share information.
Working with government agencies and non-profit organizations, you will help build the "Information Commons", an ambitious experimental research agenda to liberate and unite the world's data. Leading a team of brilliant engineers, human scientists and visual designers, you will manage the creation and implementation of software, data fusion and hardware solutions that satisfy client needs while furthering the Information Commons research agenda. This challenging position requires the ability to manage multiple stakeholder interests, in a fast-paced start-up environment.
If moderately successful, you will help solve complex data collaboration problems. If wildly successful, you might go down in history for rendering the Web a relic of the past.
Job Requirements:
*Successful track record (5 years +) of bringing new software products to market, and managing ongoing product development
*Demonstrated success leading and motivating interdisciplinary teams
*Strong communication skills, humility and the ability to negotiate difficult agreements between stakeholders
*Ability to anticipate and mitigate areas of risk
* Understanding of distributed systems, peer to peer computing, data mining, information modeling and user centered design
*Start up experience preferred, along with an ability to thrive amidst chaos, ambiguity and overwhelming demand
* BS/BA required - advanced degrees not held against you
* Travel required, up to 30%
